"Off"

อ๊อฟ [o:f] (high tone)

I looked for this word in all thai dictionaries I know, but could not find it. However this is one of the thai words which I like most ; this is the word you say when you are about to leave a bar accompanied by the new boy you have just chosen. Shortly after, a new leaflet will be slipped into your box, adding another 2 or 3 hundreds bahts to your final bill.

Before uttering this syllab, you will have given a lot of thought ... You invited a guy who caught your attention, you spoke with him, perhaps you groped him or kissed him ... but now you have to decide whether this beautiful young thai lad that you have been knowing only for some minutes, will share your privacy for some hours, or - who knows ? - much longer. And he too has to accept to go with a man who could be his father ....

Once this magic word is said, everything is over, and a new couple will form for the best or the worse, for one night or for ine life ... You will invite him to an eating place because he - of course- is hungry, and this will be the last chance to judge whether you will get on well together... Not only concerning sex, but also as regards his nature, his honesty, the trust you can have towards a complete stranger.

If it is your first time with the boy, you probably will not go anywhere else but to your room. And there will be the discovering of his more intimate details and his true nature : more than often it will be a good surprise even if you already saw him almost naked in his bar (supposing you took him from a gogo bar).

Another likely good surprise will be what these young things are able to do in a bed ... Where did they learn all their tricks, I never could figure it ... Perhaps it's just their job after all ...

And all this because you dared to say the magic word ....

"Off" is NOT a Thai word, just one of many English words adapted into Thai language, like "motorcyk"...
